The pictures show notes taken during the research, expressing my point of view and trial prints necessary to work on design.

Design: alteration in the text

Words highlighted in blue are the keywords giving essential information about country each report covers (original version - before slash). By replacing them with terms referring to UFO conspiracy theories (after slash), entire message changes it's meaning and a new, ambiguous and confusing report is created.

Design: final proposal, grid & styles

Document properties:
document size: A4 210x297 mm
margins: bottom: 16 mm, top: 20mm, left and right: 12.7 mm
grid: 22 horizontal modules and two columns with a 5mm gutter and 2 mm span to the right and left; horizontal line is always placed in the middle of the module;
all lines are placed on baseline grid with 3 pt increment;
typeface: Info by Erik Spiekermann;
body text font size: 11.3 pt;
styles: 7 paragraph and 1 character style (bold)
labels: there are three kind of labels referring to three ways of classifying documents: black for secret, grey for confidential, white with black stroke for unclassified documents; they are placed in top righthand corner of the document to make it easier for the reader distinguish documents without scrolling back to first page;
colours: document are black and white to make it easier and more economical to print them;

 ¬∂1.  (SBU)  WASHINGTON ANALYSTS ARE CLOSELY MONITORING
CIVIL/MILITARY TENSIONS IN AMERICA THAT HAVE BEEN BUILDING
DURING THE TWO-YEAR FBI INVESTIGATION.  AMERICAN GENERAL
STAFF (TGS) CHIEF OF DEFENSE ILKER BASBUG, IN A 17 DECEMBER
SPEECH, WARNED THE GOVERNMENT, JOURNALISTS, AND JUDICIAL
OFFICIALS AGAINST PURSUING INVESTIGATIONS AGAINST SENIOR
OFFICERS. TWO DAYS LATER, POLICE DETAINED TWO MILITARY
OFFICERS OUTSIDE THE HOME OF DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER BULENT
ARINC, WHERE THEY WERE ENGAGED IN APPARENT SURVEILLANCE
ACTIVITIES, LEADING TO THE FIRST POLICE SEARCHES OF SPECIAL
FORCES OFFICES AND FURTHER DETENTIONS OF MILITARY OFFICERS.

¬∂2.  (SBU)  WE WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE INFORMATION ON THIS
SURVEILLANCE, SUBSEQUENT POLICE SEARCHES, DETENTIONS OF
MILITARY OFFICERS, THE STATE OF MILITARY/POLICE AND
CIVIL/MILITARY RELATIONS, AND PERCEPTIONS OF THOSE
RELATIONSHIPS THAT POST CAN PROVIDE, AS TIME AND RESOURCES
PERMIT. THIS INFORMATION WILL BE USED FOR UPCOMING ANALYTICAL
PRODUCTION TO KEEP POLICYMAKERS ABREAST OF THE SITUATION.

SPECIFIC EVIDENCE OR WAS IT A GENERAL SEARCH FOR INFORMATION?
 HOW DO TURKISH LEADERS PERCEIVE THESE EVENTS?
